The Scriptures Inspired

The Handmaiden House believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible truth, and foundational to our Christian Faith. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12)

The One True God

We believe there is only One True God, not created but eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Isa. 44:6, 11; Matt. 28:19)

The Deity of Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 10:30; John 1:1; John 1:14; Matt. 2:11; 2 Cor 5:21)

Salvation

We believe there is one way to Salvation and that is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. That Salvation cannot be earned by works but is a gift freely given to those who admit they are a sinner in need of the Savior, turn away from themselves and sins, seek forgiveness through repentance, and surrender Lordship of their lives to Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2: 8,9; Rom 6:23; Matt 5:48; 1 John 4:8b; Ex 34:7b; John 3:16; Isa 53:6b; Acts 16:31; Rev 3:20; John 6:47b; John 1:12)

Sanctification

Sanctification is an ongoing process of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word to complete the development of Christ’s character within us. (1Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; 2 Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11).

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church (the people not the buildings), demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives in order to bring glory to God and expansion of HIS Kingdom. These gifts operate in harmony with Scripture. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Eph 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10)

Marriage

We believe that from the beginning of creation, God has uniquely designed and specifically instituted marriage as a covenant solely between one man and one woman (Gen. 1:27; 2:18,20-24; Matt. 19:6; Eph 4:32; Col 3:18-19; Eph 5:21-33).
