Thrift Store Retail Storefront
Serve in our retail Thrift Store by supporting our HH staff with keeping the storefront clean and inviting, assisting with rotating store merchandise, and helping customers.
Thrift Store Sorting Donations
Assist staff with our ongoing sorting needs, our number one donation is clothing and it’s an all hands on deck opportunity anytime of day we are present during store hours.
Transportation for Residents
Help get our residents where they need to go. Required appointments, job interviews, and weekly grocery store runs.
Childcare Team
Join our childcare team to serve our littlest disciples unable to attend school in our Maternity Home. We are in need of a rotating team to serve when the need arises (based on our residents at the time) to love, play, pray, and teach while mom is working on our program and securing employment. Background check and child abuse training required.
Mentorship
Disciple one woman at a time through our mentorship program. Designed to partner one mature Christian woman with one resident who may or may not know Christ. To walk the journey with her from crisis to self-sufficency. This position requires weekly routine commitment to ensure the relationship is fostered well. Additional application, interview, and background check prior to approval.
Community Class Volunteer
Childcare & Homework Help
Serve twice per year, 7 weeks at a time on Tuesday nights. Ages vary from infants to middle school. Complete homework, play, and laugh with the children while the parents participate in community classes.
Why become a volunteer?
Mark 10:45 states ” For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
There are so many reasons to volunteer, maybe it’s a requirement for a program you’re involved with, perhaps it even makes your heart happy. But Jesus, the Son of God provided the best example we can ever find of servitude. A genuine love for us, so deep that He gave His own life as a ransom for our sins, that we may have life and have it abundantly. Stewardship and obedience, that is our why at HH.
