Our Story
The Handmaiden House name and mission began in July 2016 with a small group and a shared heart to serve women of the community in Grady County, Ga.
Our founding scripture imprinted on one co-founders heart, Luke 1:38 KJV “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.”
This is what we represent, servants of the LORD.
The Handmaiden House offers hope to pregnant women who have become displaced. We accept single women who are confirmed pregnant. Must be 18+
We are a registered home with Betsy’s Law and are able to house up to 6 single pregnant women and their babies.
Who we are
We are a 501c3 non~profit Maternity Supportive Housing Residence dedicated to providing women a place to call home. During this time we will provide support and resources to bring them from crisis to self~sufficiency.
We are an Outreach Ministry of the Christian Community of Grady County.
We offer
Each resident participates in Life Skill Development, Spiritual Development, Parenting Classes, Financial Literacy Classes and Job Readiness
Funding the Home
Our Thrift Store is set up to support our Maternity Support Home. Coupled with monetary gifts, we accept “ready to sell” household items, clothing, and furniture. Donations are tax deductible.

How can I help?
We welcome volunteers who are directed by the Holy Spirit to support this Mission through prayers, service, mentoring, or finances.
We have routine house needs such as, toiletries, laundry soap, and household cleaning supplies. Please see our wish list section for more specific items.
